dead battery/charging circuit maybe?

so no lights on, fire bike up it runs ok, then after say 5 minutes of engine running you flip lights on and it kills it, does it do it immediately, or after a short delay?

starts up ok no lights on, then switch lights on and you can feel and see the drain its having on the bike and eventually cuts out, more often then not it will occur at lights when just waiting, no problems when riding. when you rev her with lights on the glow becomes greater then when its idling.

if the bike is running fine then the charging circuit seems ok, i would suggest a dying battery that cant hold a charge?

£25 online.

the "increased glow" is because IIRC at idle the battery will provide 12V whereas when it gets up to ~4k rpm voltage goes up to ~14.4V so thats why it gets brighter, they all should do that, i think though that if you were to sticka multimeter on your battery under no load it would be low, like 10V...the zxr requires a large voltage to crank over so battery condition is important.

I would invest in a volt meter. Helps alot in situations like this. I can monitor my charging voltage and it gives me a heads-up if the bike isn't charging, before the battery going flat and cutting out on me.

Sounds like your regulator is buggered :-)
