hi lads
i have a problem that i have to sort out but im not electrician or anything i had a problem with my rectifier but cos im a bit short on money thought get cheap jobbie from china (i know most of you think this is exactly problem :) ) connected rectifier connect battery fuse blows :/ got spare fuses from work ( two packets :) ) put new fuse connect battery , fuse ground, all wires and everything looks ok connected my old rectifier with new fuse turn ignition fuse still in one piece so this would mean that the rectifier is shorting ? i just need an opinion before i buy a genuine one cos they not cheap :( could it be something else causing the main fuse to blow ?
cheers

Seeing as you've narrowed it down by swapping out the components I'd say yes, it's the expensive POS from China. Why not buy a 2nd hand one from a reputable breaker rather than brand new?

well i got few bits in the past and they have been ok but for some reason this time after my first attempt to save money i think i will go for an oem i have seen lots of aftermarket regulators but they still close to 100 quid so i will try to get one via my work as we have an account with one of the dealers and maybe i will get some money off :)
thanks mate as usual you are very helpful :smt023

:) so i made few phone calls today :) i spoke to my manager about our account with metropolis motorcycles and asked how much trade discount we get from the retail price he says i dont really know :) it just sounded so bad to run a business and you dont even know how much discount you get :) but he took the details of my bike and phoned them anyway to get me a price came back with 120+vat minus our discount 107+ when i phoned cradleys they quoted me 99.94+ retail :) and told me i could set up trade account to get some money off but then another problem came up to the surface if parts are not fitted by a certified kawasaki dealer there is no warranty :( but basically it looks like my boss is getting done on parts anyway :)
