Neutral indicator switch?

What, where, how?

A few miles ago, my ZXR started deciding that every gear was neutral, so I rode the last few miles on the ZXR before putting it in the garage for the winter, with the neutral light constantly on. Gears engage fine and drive is fine, but the light stays on for each and every position.

I'm hoping you guys are going to tell me there's simply a switch bolted into the box somewhere, and that it's probably knackered.

Good answer.

I'll have a look at it tomorrow, and see about cleaning it. If that doesn't change it, presuming it's not expensive, I'll have a look at replacing it.

Any other suggestions to what might cause those symptoms, anyone?

it not being connected :smt002

Edit - it's a bullet connect iirc that pushes onto a connection on the gearbox and has a habit of slipping off or getting toad inside it. i'd be very surprised if it was anything else

this can happen if its really wet as well. Happenedon mine when i had to ride through some monstrous puddles. But as soon as it dried out it worked fine

Not yet, no.

Been a bit distracted in the last couple of days, it's been a bit hectic and weird, really.

Hoping to get a few bits off the ZXR tomorrow, cleaning as I go, so we'll see.
