I've had a qoute from Maxton for respringing and reshiming the standard rear shock £180, has anyone had this done, just wondering if it makes a good enough improvement over buying a new shock £400 up, or if you're a flukey bugger and have a touch on the scratchcards £700 up.

I'm about to order the shock, Mr Kawasaki sets the bike up for a 68kg rider, which I reckon is me, i weigh myself, hmmmmmm, seems my jacket and helmet must weigh 9kg

My nitron 3-way is supposedly set for 12st, me+all my gear, and it is still too hard.
I have a 400lb spring on there, it was sent with a 425lb and i got it swapped out (30quid).
I'll be getting the spring swapped out again soon.

Just a bit of info for ya.

I will be ordering a Wilbers through Cargo's mate, he will advise on the weight thing, the spring not me, but i see what you mean, fookin annoying if I change to another pogo stick, swapped out to??????? I,ll bear this in mind, 12 stone, the perfect athletes.

Just collected from Clarence, they're as brand spank now, H linkage looks like it came straight from the Mr Kawasaki, although I've now decided to stick with my L linkage following info from RMKD and discussing with Clarence, reckon it will suit this shock best, spring errs on the soft side.
Once again thanks to Cargo for knowing all the good guys, and some rather aggressive superb roads on the way

Removing the swing arm was a hoot, WD, rotate, whack, WD, rotate, whack, etc.
Most bearings and sleeves etc are good, so if I can work out where to get any parts I need I'm laughing.
Cleaning and greasing time, moly not WD then the good bit.
Bolt holding the brake hose clamp bloody sheered off
Screws on the hugger are stuck solid, always the silly things.

ZXR400 rear spends evening in new found state of understanding static sag and ability to deal with bumps.

Feels worlds better just sitting on it, next few days will tell all, if the rain stays away

Should refresh it this year though and get the line changed over to the other side and mount reservoir where it should be

Took longer to place the reservoir than fit the shock, wanted it over the zorst but fouled on the brake switch, better on the left really though, easy adjustments

MM if you come across a lovely bracket for the Ohlins res, don't keep it a secret , I've had some nice s/s brackets made for other areas of the bike, bloody expensive for one offs though.

First Ohlins ride today, 'kin 'ell, difference is just extraordinary, rear end feels so sorted I actively looked for bumps, could not trouble it.
That old loose rear wheel feeling is a distant memory.
Next winter front forks will be sorted, they're fine as standard, but now with the rear being so utterly lovely, do feel a tad wandery.
Although in fairness my fit a Shido eat cake mantra may be adding to this, lemon cake is just too good
