Hi,

Please can someone tell me what size allen key I need to undo the front spindle?
I read a post on the net somewhere stating 14mm, which one side possibly is and the other looks like its 12mm when I measure it with a ruler?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers,
Colin

did it not occur to you to measure both sides ?

12mm will remove the spindle nut (for the want of a better word) and the spindle can be withdrawn
Or 14mm will remove the spindle itself leaving the nut (defo not the right word) captive until you release the clamp bolts on that side.

The clamp bolts are 6mm allen cap head

I did measure both sides, it's just a steel rule is not the most accurate method and I knew there would be somebody helpful on here to advise biggrin
My set only go up to 10mm, but with this info I can get the right half inch drive ones now.

Cheers

I got a 14mm allen bit in a 1/2 drive off ebay....................I find it quicker to leave the "nut" captive perhaps only important for racing but it's also actually easier that way too
