Hi all bought a zxr400 yesterday and has just been delivered by bloke that sold it me,after he goes i get excited and start playing with it in the garden checking it out and stuff but have noticed while its in neutral there's a rattling noise coming from somewhere but soon as i pull the clutch lever noise goes then when i release it,it comes back is this something to worry about.Sorry if i sound dumb first bike and know jack all about bikes.Thanks in advance

hello that noise is classic clutch rattle, mine does it as well. to be honest i dont think its anything to be worried about alot of them do it.do you no when it last had a oil change?this can help sometimes.also is it running correctly and smoothly because this can also have an effect on it.

lad said oil was fine but i'd say needs a good service.sounds like its running ok but i wouldn't know what running ok is on a bike.YET hopefully i'll learn alot of this bike.

Don't think i've heard of a zxr without it, nothing to worry about as long as it's running fine.

now the bike is turning over but not starting straight away takes awhile to get it going and soon as i let go of throttle it cuts out and choke is on also fluid is leaking out middle of exhaust.What have i got myself into.

Does the fluid smell of petrol? you might just have flooded the engine. Try turning it over with no choke or throttle.

no there's no smell off it its like water.Think i'll just get someone to check it over to make me feel better

could be condensation in the exhaust but if its leaking from the middle then there must be a hole somewhere? whereabouts are you chris?

I'm in ireland just had a friend round who knows a bit about bike he adjusted something and said it was something to do with the idle thats why it wasn't starting first time and cutting out also found small hole on joint of exhaust hopefully can be repaired.

so is it all sorted now then?
most probably condensation in the exhaust i get that sometimes.
