Clutch Switch Bypass

Hi,

I need to bypass the clutch switch sensor on my L2 ZXR400, however I've read that simply hotwiring the sensor causes all sorts of problems with the engine. How can I rig something up which would enable me just to flick a switch or something when firing up the bike?

Any experiences or advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Its fine actually. The problem is I can only use my left hand and convert all my bikes so that the throttle and front brake are on the left with the clutch.
The type of clutch lever that I normally use is a standard one off an old bike without the sensor thingy.

The clutch assembly is too large, thats why I normally use this slimmer one....so I would like to know how to bypass not needing clutch sensor.

It's off a forum thread, this is what was said

"
Without the switch, the engine runs as if it were in neutral. While in neutral the engine will hit the rev limiter sooner. That is why it is a bad idea to remove the switch.
"

and

"
I did some research on here and read if you jump the clutch switch that allows to bike to turn on you will lose 500rpm at the top.
"

This seems to be the general opinion...I may be wrong of course but you can't blame me for being cautious about removing the thing! I plan on racing the bike so can't be affording to lose any power top end.

GEtting a quickshifter wont solve the problem though will it confuddled

I think I will give you the chance to look at a wiring diagram, then perhaps you might be able to help me with this problem :smt003
