Hi all

i'm laurent, from france, i own a 400 H2 since some month, very happy to ride it !! it have 52000 km at the counter, but didn"t run for one year ( a girl have buy it, do 50km, be afraid and never ride it anymore)

i' have some questions about little trouble:

- i can hear a little noise when hot , a very little "click click" like a valve rocker... it appear at about 6000 tr/m then disapear and re-appear at 10000 tr/m..... valve clearance ? or timing chain ?

- the idle is not very good, sometime too high, some time too low, with variations, when i ride, it run fine, no hesitation, no vibration.... so i think about carn balancing...?

- at 52000 km, what can i check ?

- is the 400 is noisy engine vs modern ones ?

regards

Laurent

Check for washers in the carbs when you remove them for the camchain.

if it exceeds 180kph its not restricted

dont worry about "washers in the carbs" thats a uk licence restriction thing.

180 km/H ???
yes i have reach 220 without effort on the highway.( forbiden ?? really ??)

move from suzuki 125 rgv (unrestricted, jolly moto corsa , 34mm carbs, armin fisher top engine, 250 rs valves, moved reed valve etc...)& rg gamma (racing exhaust, overbored (132cc) and fully worked engine) to the zxr is a real pleasure.

the zxr is not really bigger than the rgv, a bit heavyer, more rigid, and more more torque to keep a cool drive. with the rgv i was always into the red zone, cause under 11000, nothing happend !!!

and when i said, "it's a 400cc, no one know.....never seen here, we can find some L model, but H is almost unknow..

Looks in good condition mate.
