Gear Change Problem

Hi, I have a problem with gear changes and would be grateful for some help.

The bike grinds changing gear up or down. I have tried adjusting the gear pedal change position without any luck.

Basically the bike will not go into first unless I roll it forward a bit but then it has problems going from 1st to 2nd.

If I roll the bike back a bit she goes into 2 through to 6 and back to neutral but will not go into first unless I roll forward again.

Whilst riding this can be terribly annoying. She is slightly over full on oil at the mo and the clutch cable is worn. But even turning out
the clutch adjustment screw all the way to provide the correct clutch operation of 2mm did not help this.

Is this a gearbox or clutch problem?

if you can get 2nd at a standstill, its a gearbox problem, as you arent supposed to be able to.

Actually in addition to the above when I put the bike in neutral it rolls freely, when I put the bike in any gear and
depress the clutch fully I can still feel resistance to the bike rolling. Even though I have adjusted the clutch properly to only allow 2 mm of play before engaging the clutch. It seems like the clutch is not disengaging properly. Is there a quick fix for the clutch?

clutch sounds fine, there's always some drag in gear.

Ok adjusted gear lever switch today and for some reason the bike has gone into gear every time.

Someone else rode it with no problems.

I am fitting a new clutch cable to the bike because the current one is stretched. I am having problems however adjusting the
throttle cable. If I adjust it too tight with no much play it does not flick back but if I loosen the throttle cable up the
sping flips the cable back but there is too much play.

Any tips

check the routing of the throttle cable and treat it to some lube as well. Are you also adjusting the return cable?
