Hi all,
I think I've got a problem with the chain tensioner! I've got all the cams adn timing lined up, however when i come to put the camchain tensioner in the metal rod clipped onto the plastic runner does not move up when i tighten the bolt up! Its fine when its not mounted the tensioner moves up the notches. SO i just dont know what is going/i'm doing wrong??? :smt017
The chain is still slack which I dont think it should be?

if you have done it right and put it together properly then the tensioner will take up the slack in the chain when you turn the engine over

How tight should the lock bolt be??? As when I tighten this the push rod does not extend up which it does when it is not mounted to the engine! :smt017

Not sure what you mean by "lock bolt"

You need to mount the tensioner and bolt it into place with the rod push right back into the body.
Then when you put the spring in and fit and tighten the bolt the tensioner will automaticly take up any slack in the cam chain once you turn the engine over manually
the bolt for the spring doesn't have a torque setting if my memory is right but be careful not to overtighten
I will PM you a number to get me on if you want to talk
