As the title suggests, I am a twat :smt009

Overtightened the sump-plug on my wifes 400 the other day and felt the threads give way..........

Has anyone here ever done this, or perhaps heard of a anyone doing this, and know of a remedy?

I was hoping that I could tap out the hole and fit a larger plug, and thought I would check with you guys for advice before hunting for a suitable replacement

I'm really hoping that it won't come to that, but I'm not confident.

I'm going to give myself 'till the end of the week to sort it before any more drastic measures.

How much would you want for it if it does come to that?

Yeah, you can tap them, probably best to helicoil it though, but as it has to come off anyway, to make sure the swaff doesn't get into the engine, why not just replace it if you can get one cheap enough?
