Hi there and welcome to the forum :)

Not a common problem but could be a worn selector, how many miles has it done? Manuals here for you to look at the gearbox.

would that be the only possible cause ,could it be the clutch,if so would it be simple to change {the selector i mean }

I assume this problem is occuring while your acutally riding the bike?
There is a mechinism that prevents second gear being selected while it (the bike) remains stationary

It could be something simple like the postion of the gear lever linkage on the splines stopping the lever from moving properly.
Of course it could well be something internal........... a worn selector fork should still work but it could be broken or it could be a fault in the the gearbox itself.............or something broken on the selector shaft mechinism.

There is also the possibility of something having broken elsewhere in the engine and that broken bit has found it's way into the gearbox and is jamming it ?
