The manuals were aimed at expericenced mechanics they never were intended as a step by step guide for dim wits :pmsl

I find the explodeed drawings to be excellent and much better that photos

Nooooo its not going to a dealership I just can't see why there is a more informed manual for people that are not mechanics. In our house when my husband is not sure about anything I read the manual and talk him through wht needs to be done and he does the mechanics stuff. Don't get me wrong my husband knows his stuff but somethings we like to be 100% sure on.

I find the Haynes manuals next to useless :smt014 All the important stuff they seem to miss out and photos are generalizations of what your doing.

Workshop manuals are the thing to use , they specify tools, materials, torque values and disassembly instructions for each part your working on as you go through it. They also show how to route cables and looms too - that's worth the cost of buying any workshop manual in itself !

If your stuck on a particular thing post up here and some one will help/guide you along, that's the benefit of being on a forum :smt001
