Bike Cutting Out

Had my bike running in my back gardern and all was fine so i decided to turn the switch for the fan on as it has been bypassed, after about 5 minutes of the fan being on the bike cut out, so i tried to start it again but the battery was at 11.5 volt and didn't start, put it on charge and started no problem but when i have the tester on it whilst the fan is on the voltage drops alot.
Anyone got any idea what is wrong?

Nothin , fan sooks loads of power. On average the fan will come on for 10~20secs max to cool the rad down when using the thermo switch/sensor, leaving it on longer is discharging the battery !

you are correct, took the bike out the past 2 days and it's been fine as the fan hasn't been running as it's cold

The fan should NEVER come on during normal riding conditions.

Depends where you are C , plus city riding will make it come on if your trapped in traffic even in the winter - mine came on Saturday at 98'c
In the summer here it is essential , I counted over a dozen times it coming on in one day.
Making it a manual switch you really need a digital temp meter so you can see exactly when to switch it on / off , the ZRX was running at an average of 88'c on Wednesday with a day time temp of 15'c , a 200Km ride and it never came on.
Look how quickly race bikes overheat sitting at the line - riders soon get into a panic if someone is flaffing about getting into position.
If you want a blown head gasket a fan should never come on
