stupid piston question

i am refreshing my race engine and have forgotton wether the little arrow on the piston pionts to the front of the engine or the rear? feel a bit stupid

im not so sure about an arrow but im pretty sure that the valve 'pots' on the piston are bigger on one side so should be able to work it out from this......inlets are bigger

The arrow points to the exhaust side (front of bike when engine installed)
