Ticking Noise, Help?

When travelling at a constant speed, there is often a ticking sound, it sounds like something tapping the wheel, but it's coming more from the engine I think because when the ticking noise happens, if I increase or decrease the engine revs the noise stops ... so the noise only happens when I'm on constant revs, I can hold it ticking if I don't move the throttle, also it doesn't happen when its stood still and running.... Any ideas?

Also if this helps, it might be possible that it only happens on a certain rev range I think, 4-6k, but I only really noticed it when I have to follow a car about 30/40mph. It never happens during normal riding but I'm not usually at constant revs that much.

Cheers.

could be lots of things..........cam chain or the guides, possibly the tensioner, valve clearances......if you do a search theres lots of threads with people having different solutions

it could also be a bit of body work. Ive had a buzing sound at 3 and 5k revs on my bike recently. Thought it was the engine but realised it was somewhere else on the bike, first thought it was the screen but turned out to be the filler cap lock cover.

Chain's fine, I got someone elses opinion with more experience than me and he says its body work, or some bolts a bit loose and vibrating, just need to work which bit it is one day soon.
