Coolant leak..

When i stop at lights or turn the bike off, coolant leaks from one of the bolts on the water pump, and its not the drainage bolt.
I tried using a liquid gasket and some locktite on this bolt but it made no difference. The bike isn't running hotter than usual and all other things are normal.

I tried a search of the site but nothing helped. Hopefully its an easy fix, its not a problem thats stopping me riding the bike, which is useful as i need it every day, but i would like to have it fixed.

Thanks

Which o-ring? I didn't see an o-ring when i took the bolt out. do all the bolts on the pump have o-rings?

Yea looks like the gasket has had it. Gonna reseal it with one of those liquid gasket things, they seem to hold up pretty well i find.
If not i'l have to order a proper one and just let my bike wee on peoples driveways till i get home lol.
Cheers fellas

looking at the microfiche there is 1 big o-ring to stop the water coming out.

Right it appears i got the wrong o-ring, i got the one between the two halfs of the pump!!

However looking at the one that comes out the crankcase it looks absolutely fine.....Still leaking though lol,
Worth trying replacing that o-ring aswell?

There is an internal seal in the pump on the shaft it sounds to me like that is the one that is leaking.............the o ring that goes on to the bit of the pump that fits into the crankcase is there to keep oil in

Cargo i think you might be right. However i rang cradley and the whole thing is one unit, so i need a new pump.
Great lol. And i also now need to do an oil change as a lot of water has got into the oil!! lol

If water has got into your oil from the water pump then for sure it is the seal inside it on the shaft.
I've not ever took one apart so i on't know iif it is reubildable nor if a new seal can be had.

Don't know what price a complete new pump would be and of course buying a used one would be cheaper ...........but will it leak too ?

Nearly forgot.......................I'm always right..............mostly :pmsl
