As you will see from my posts in the Having Problems section I had to drill out the bolt form the bottom of my fork leg.

my old man went to a specialist place in redditch to get a replacement, but was told it is a fine metric thread, and a bolt they don't carry / couldn't source !

its from a H model fork, and is a much bigger hex than 6mm (think its more like 12) does anyone have any idea of where i could source one ? as without it I wont be getting my bike back on the road !!! :smt013

you can get stainless too, i'd expect to pay around £4 each

Do you mean one of the two that pinch the bottom of the fork leg together around the axle?

If so then it should be on the microfiche on this site - or Cradley Kawasaki will have it for a silly price...

probably got them at work mate do you know the size for def?? its a cap head aint it??

Reading the other thread on this it's the bolt that goes up into the bottom of the fork leg and holds the damper unit in place that he needs....................big mistake drilling it out.

A home made tool to hold the damper unit would have been a better way to go.

It will be a Kawasaki part and NOT available form a bolt supplier....................and I'm prepared to bet it will be pricey.................

I've looked at the microfiche and the part number is 92001-1309


Cradley is your best bet

maybe someone has a bent fork the could be stripped for parts

The special tool you need is listed as part number.................. 57001 -1 297

However now that you have it apart you should be able to make something up yourself as it's quite a simple tool

There is a picture of it in the manual in section 12-5

I suspect that you WILL need a tool to retighten the bolt either home made of bought

just done a quick search on the net for this part, lots of results but no sizes and price about £2

i would call a zxr breakers and ask them to send it you... thats if you cant find it anywhere else... im sure some ppl on here know some good breakers..

will have a look see what i can get - will see what cradley are asking for it - wish i hadnt started now !!! no front forks atm, and no brakes as i cant even get the pistons out to clean them !!

take the bolt out the other fork mate and measure it i'll have a look here

just phoned cradley - both in stock - les than £4 for bolt and gasket so cant complain

erm I might have the bolt in question...got a spare fork, guess i'm a bit late
