Yep. Sounds about right. Sunny days out on the zxr are the best. Especially when you show people up on bigger bikes.

?? its my second zxr400 and this 1 is far better on the suspension...alot nicer to ride. The feel of the bike is perfect, handles lovely, pick up is amazing...un sure why its so fast compared to my last one. Its even better on petrol ( all this and its got 36,000 miles on the clock!) Its just i can't get it over lol
(i opened it up proper giving it some...3rd gear 14500revs and 100mph...and pulling)Cant wait to find out what it can do

Short legs won't really matter, if the pegs will scrape then your knee will. Not that it matters, won't make you any faster, you don't see john mcguiness with his knee down on every corner and there isn't really anyone faster than him on the road...

yes in a way thats my point, that point was made to me last year, knee down doesn't mean you are going faster...did recently see a bloke come round a corner close to my house knee down....at 35mph ish confuddled why?

It's true, there's no denying it. It's fact.

Sounds like a wicked day out. Nothing like a good run with some bigger bikes. I've been playing with the idea of getting a Triumph Street Triple to slow me down on the road (naked = wind punishment).
But reading this just reminds me how much fun I had on my ZXR400. Awesome bikes aren't they! They look so good for their age too. Look at a VFR or even RVF and they look like 80's machines.

I and several off here hooned around the Isle of Wight all weekend. Out of the 6 of us I think I'm the only one who can get their knee down on the road but I was usually riding near the back of the pack. Kneedown is great on corners that you know are clear and smooth, but the problem is you have to be totally comitted to the corner on most bikes, and on roads you don't know that's Not A Good Idea.

I'm totally sure I'm slower when I'm getting my knee down, because to do it most of the time I angle the corner more to get the extra lean. The flip side of that is that when you're really at the limit your kneee will touch down pretty much whether you want it to or not, like the racers you see on track.

It's just for fun/showing off on the roads unless you're a bit mental, and like someone said of road racers like John McGuinness - you don't need it to ride fast on normal roads.
