Hi there literally just come back from a 3 hour ride. was brilliant. encountered some vehciles which tried to keep up.. an MX 5.. god knows. a skoda VRS... a chav in a fiat seciciento thingys. and i accidently bump into a gsxr 600 K2. were on the duel carrige way i had an early lead and was doing roughly 135-140ish and he wasnt gaining that much, and when he was ahead of me and pelted it i actually kept up, had to rev the tits off her though in order. but then started pulling away, not to much to be honest. and then we found some twisties i was NOT familar with, my heart was in my mouth lol! but i was right on his ass. he was really trying his hardest to get his knee down. i had to even ease off. nervous rider, but the worst thing was he pulled over to the Kawasaki Dealership. i go straight past. i really wanted to let him know he just got spanked by a 400. awesome ride. only problem is... my ass is really numb! lol

Went out for a ride today with my friends, one on a blade the other a new 6R, had no problem keeping up. My friend on the blade had to ride behind me because at nearly every corner i would be up his back side trying to avoid hitting him. Its great showing people with nearly twice the capacity that you can keep up. Stayed behind the 6R as he knew the road and the way!

Grinning ear to ear :excited

haha similar to me then. i actually intended going out for a nice ride and hopefully humiliating boy racers. not take on superbikes lol! i dont want to sound weird but i was so excited and full of adrenaline when chasing i was shouting to my bike saying that i love it haha.. god how sad! such a great day though. i just really do wish i stopped to tell him that was a 400

I've ridden with a lot of larger bikes and they can be pretty close until you get to 60+. My friends RSV factory used to pass me at ~120 like I was standing still. That is crushing and reminds you you're only on a 400. :smt012

Track days are good because you know people are trying. And taking larger bike on the outside and carrying enough speed to hold them off on a straight is a very good feeling. I had a good battle with a ZXR750 and when I took him, it felt so good.
Mind you, despite all the overtaking I did that day, I got trounced by an R1. He literally brushed my shoulder at an insane speed. I may as well have been going backwards!

i just dont get this. you cant say you was keeping up with new 600s round the twisties like that because they are LIGHTER that the ZXR. thus no real advantage at all. it must then simply be because your a dang good rider not everything is about the horse your riding its about how well you know how to handle it.

Given this thread and the ram air one can I suggest that adam takes up racing.

Like proper racing that is with a race bike on a race track................... seems like he's good enough

thanks guys! being told your a good rider is a very good thing. if im honest i havent done any racing on the tracks atall haha! it was a GSXR 600 K1 k2 or k3. at first it looked like a TL1000R but then actually opened my eyes lol! i would actually like to take up racing, but no race tracks in cornwall :( however we do have some gorgeous twisties. i feel like i know the bike now and arent nervous about it, but i would like abit more power for that extra umph though. but honestly dont know where to start lol! just left scratching my head with the ram air. kent cams and so on. i dont want to get a 600cc as i love my ZXR and dont plan on ever selling it lol! cheers for the compliments though :-) means alot! :D

more power .. simply ?

exhaust, sp cams, set carbs up on a dyno.

makes a world of difference :)

its what i'd do before going ram air anyway..
