anyone seen one, tried one, any power benefits?
Thinking two small silencers like the new gsxr1000 race bikes

a mate of mine had a system on his H model which had twin stacked cans on the RH side of the bike. No idea who made it but it looked cool.
However in terms of power benefits, I very much doubt there is any. I'm pretty sure the teams racing the recent GSXR-1000's in superbikes would use a single can if they were allowed, but....
- the road bike has twin cans to get through noise and emissions tests
- superbike rules insist that the race bike has the same exhaust configuration as the road bike.
same applies to the R1's. I think for years they ran a second dummy can that wasn't even connected to anything, just to fit in with the silhouette rules. However I think that's recently been changed so now both cans have to actually be plumbed in.

one each side was my thoughts
looks pretty good, been reading up on as much spec etc of the f400 bikes that have been used over last few years and also i want a bike as quiet as possible, two silencers is normally better than one so i guess i'll give that chap a shout.
cheers

Yeah, my mate's one was the system in the top pic.
I don't dare ask Drew what it would cost to get hold of one - cos I'd buy one and I can't afford it

they arent that expensive.. i considered one, but went with beet as its known to give good performance.
twinstack is about £390
either side is about £425
depends on exchange rate, and thats plus delivery etc..

why do you want a quiet bike ? none of the 400's are that loud anyway.
and a twin system is going to weigh more.

I want a quiet system so i can do any trackday. Weight is a small price to pay and it'll be low down anyway. I dont think i'd buy that system, id be able to make up the pipe work using the pipe bending kit at work and two carbon silencers wouldnt weigh much given the overall size is comparable to one large silencer. The collectors alone must weigh a bit and this system would be one less collector.
The RLR vfr/rvf bikes are using a twin pipe setup where one silencer is 'the norm'. There has to be a bit more to it and whilst i've get the equipment available i'll take a look

LOL if you can work the site out, you might be buying a tub of washing powder with a pic of a twin system ZXR on it.

i thought that for a while, but decided it would be a bit "ZZR" and widen the bike.
