Dunno if anyone already has one or uses one, The crash card schemes been around for a few years now but not many people use it. As part of our local bike club its mandatory to have one else you can't joint the ride out :-(
They are available from your local fire marshal and should be stocked by your local hospital. If you didn't want the hastle of traveling to collect you can follow this link and fill out the form and have one sent for free (takes a minute to fill out)
Never know god forbid it could save the emergency services a valuable couple of minutes when working on you

Bikers all accept that in the event of an accident They are most likely to come off worse regardless of the other vehicles (if any) that are involved in the accident with them. The emergency Medics work they do is extremely challenging but miraculous in many ways. To help their job at the scene they have developed a life saving card they call Bikers Crash Card.

The Bikers Crash Card scheme is fundamentally a way to help paramedics to act fast best for you as a biker. In the event that a biker is involved in an accident it is highly possible the biker may well have lost consciousness, therefore a paramedic put forward a simple plan to allow bikers to help themselves in this situation. This has become known as the "Bikers Crash Card" – The pack that you can receive contains a small card on which you are asked to complete vital information such as Next of Kin, and information such as blood group and any existing medical history. It also contains the contact details of a local Biker Solicitor in case your need help.

This card has already saved many lives due to the speed with which the paramedics can proceed to treat the victim.

The Crash cards are FREE to bikers and we would advise all bikers that you should carry one for your own safety. Just fill in the details below and we will send you one out free of charge to your home address. We hope you are never in the situation when you need it. But BE SAFE NOT SORRY.

You leave the card in the back of your helmet, all paramedics are told to check your lid now for these crash cards. Main benefits they know your blood type if your out for the count and have a bleed.

I race and therefore there are doctors at the circuit on bikes as first responders. They pay no attention whatsoever to any blood group information on an injured riders person. The risk of making a mistake and killing someone with the wrong blood is too high.

I'm really very sceptical about a paramedic blindly following a card they found in the back of someones crash helmet to diagnose blood type. Plus correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't they just use the universally compatible o negative in an emergency?

When it comes to medical information.................scribble it out yourself and stick it anywhere you like NO DOCTOR will treat you on the basis of what it says.

The whole thing is a money making scam

i have one of the me-key dog tags which i think is a good idea. personally due to medical problems im on lots of different medications and i have previously ended up in hospital due to interactions between medications. I'm doing the interval study which has been set up by cambridge and oxford universities to see if they interval between blood donations can be reduced and when i went the person taking my information saw the tag and asked if she could plug it in, so she did and got all the information she needed of of there. just my 2 pence
