Riding comfort on the zxr

Ive done a few long-ish trips recently and on the long-and-straight carriageways seem to end up with my nuts squashed against the tank and sore wrists as I assume thats where im resting my weight.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there an 'idiots' guide somewhere? (I came across http://www.newenglandriders.org/Riding% ... 20Tips.htm which was very helpful by the way)
Ive tried moving my feet back on the pegs to my toes which helps shift my body back a bit, and gripping the tank with my thighs takes the weight off my wrists, but at the moment im not sure which of all these practises (if any) are 'correct'?
