just wondering if the brake hoses for the front and rear are the same sizes and fitments for the L and H models

I'm quite tempted to go for the Venhill lines if they do them, if not i'll look at Goodridge's

anyone?

Or do you know the length of the hoses front and rear?

Measure your existing lines.....

Or just get a "2 line race setup" which is one line from each caliper direct to the master cylinder.

i would measure the lines myself ... but don't have access to it at the moment!

where can i find the 2 line race set up from??

Have you done any research?
Have you tried looking at goodridge/hel/venhill webistes?
Have you checked other sellers of bike bits like M&P ?

Even though I/we enjoy helping people with probs and info etc, there has got be a point were the spoonfeeding stops and you start helping yourself dude.

H & L are different length

Go one line to right caliper then a loop line over to the left , less line and easier to bleed

Was it really that hard to say that Cansa? REALLY? Yes i had done my reaserch, but i've never heard anyone call it a ''2 line race set up'', i'm currently looking at te venhills but they dont list them for the zxr, hense why im asking about the length of the lines! Its a bit hard trying to get info from my phone when it takes ages to load up or not loading at all.

H forks are longer than L

H1 swinger is shorter than L

So brake lines different length.

Build your own lines , single banjo in master with line to R caliper, double banjo in R caliper with loop line to left (Right sitting on the bike) , have this set up on my ZRX for past 4yrs no worries.

Only reason the Brembos have dual lines is they came that way otherwise they would be done the same. Look at all the modern bikes, they are doing it this way now - even seen a BMW with the loop line

Venhill do specific kits for zxr400's, I have got venhill lines front and rear. Have a look on the bay, they are always on there.

yup been emailing them and unfortunately they don't do any for the H, however they do seem to make them for 3 different years - 91-92, 93-98 and 99-03 ...

There is a danger to this set-up, though. If you get something caught in the front mudguard and it rips off then it will likely take the looped brakeline with it. Result - no front brakes as the entire system has been vented to air. Which is why it is illegal to use it in racing. Two lines is far safer, and a splitter arrangements is just as safe (althouh dearer and more of a pain to bleed). Personally I wouldn't touch a looped set-up but that's a personal choice thing. I think it looks untidy too.

Interesting to know why it isn't allowed!

While I have no preference to either style of brake line set-up, if you rip off one of the lines from the 2-line set-up then you'd have no brakes either.

Although as you say, something ripping the mudguard off does stand more of a chance of damaging the front 'looped' brake-line setup, even though i've never seen or heard of a mudguard being ripped off it's still a possibility I guess!
