I've got a garage out the back of my flat, but it doesn't have any power. So any alarms I buy will have to be battery operated!

Anyone here in a similar situation here, and have found a solution?

Get a solar powered trickle charger and hook it upto a couple of car batteries, run the alarm from that :D

TBH I'd spend the money on an Almax chain and a ground anchor and make the bike secure, rather than alarming the garage. People tend to ignore alarms nowadays. One of the tricks the scrotes have up their sleeve is to set your alarm off several times in one night so you and the neighbours get well pissed off. You then turn it off thinking it is faulty or because you are about to be lynched, they then break in for real and nick your bike. One of the oldest tricks. If you don't fall for it on night number 1 they will come back time and again until you give in. If you physically prevent them from nicking the bike they'll go elsewhere.

Do your research about chains etc. Some of the popular names are about as crop resistant as a bit of cheese. See the videos on the Almax website.
