A couple of people here have had that with no other problems.

How cloudy is the oil?

See if the gurgling is coming from one side of the bike,

Could be the coolant over flow.

Leading to a HG issue.

mine did that, was the coolant overflow.

no cloudy oil, head gasket was fine.

the oil if fairly cloudy enough to be quite visible through the glass iv checked my coolant level seems fine no drop since i topped it up but it has no nock on effects as yet so ill see how it goes im hoping its not the hg or i might just have to throw in the bag with this bike more problems than joy

Mine does this too, if you open the rad cap and it stops its just the coolant overflow.
dont know why it does it but shouldn't cause any problems.

Is your oil visibly cloudy after a long run ie. Engine has gotten to full temp ? If so you have a leak into the engine from the cooling system.

To stop the gurgling try a new thermostat, your old one might not be fully opening.

Or you could test the old thermostat with the pan of heated water trick, then you wouldn't have to replace it if you find it's not at fault. Easy job to do. If you want to try it I can post up the procedure from the manual. You might as well test it as you're going to have to remove it to replace it anyway, so you lose nothing.

Providing the oil is fine and isnt turning into milk, which as cargo said indicats a hg failure as coolant is leaking into the oil then check the rad-cap.

I had a similar problem on the VFR.. all was fine with the oil and coolant wasnt being lost but the expansion bottle would fill up nearly to over-flowing, when the bike was cooling down I could hear a gurgling as it was sucking the water back into the radiator along with air.

The problem was the rad-cap had failed and wasnt holding enough pressure and allowing water to go into the expansion bottle too soon
