Buyng help

Hi all, there is a zxr400h for sale by someone for a cheap price, but still a pocket hurter. I'm not in the uk, but to roughly give you an estimate, converted from my currency to euro, would be something like 1000 euros. Again that's converted, so may seem a lot to you. There isn't much going around for anything near that price here...

Went to go see the bike, it's in bad shape.. the guy is cheap. He resorted to spraying some kitchen stuff on the swingarm to get it clean, which made it look horrible. His fan doesn't work so he wired it straight to the battery lol... The bike started up fine, idled well, although the engine was a bit warm prior... The low revs are fine. The bike misfires midrange and up. There is a small oil leak. The tires have seen better days, the fearings have been better. It atleast has the original colours.. He told me it has been chipped.

He hasn't got money to fix it, let alone keep it serviced.. So I might just get a bargain here, or a nightmare. Start from the small and maybe even tune the carbs or get the carbs tuned? I don't mind spending a bit to get it back in good shape, not a whole lot though.. Just finding it hard to commit to buying it.. Any help would be appreciated

J

€1000 = £880 approx, thats a lot of money for the condition and model methinks. £500 max for the way you have described it.There is a buyers guide on the main site www.zxrworld.co.uk that might give you some more pointers to look for. (& haggling power)

Thanks for help, will look at the buyers guide. You see it may seem a lot to you guys when converted from my currency. Here for example is a price range from R8 000-R12 000. R10 000 being the zxr400h.

Hope the link works, if it's not allowed then sorry. It's to just give an idea.. I'm not interested in the vfr's.. Can get a nc24 for R13000 good condition, but I much prefer the kawa

There is however a 250 zxr going for R13 000

10,000.00 ZAR = 878.5693 GBP still a bit on the high side for a bike with lots of problems you should pay that for a perfect H model.
