I had a skid with my '96 L5, i didn't start the bike for a couple of months after that due to a broken femur.
When i went to start it a week ago, the battery was dead so i jump started it.
The bike started after a lot of praying and swearing and the engine sounded brillllliant but when I pulled out the leads from my car, the engine of the bike died off.

So i read the first post in this forum and bought a brand new battery (old one did not hold charge) and now everytime i press the ignition it makes the clicking sound next to the battery and then another series of clicks near the engine that slowly die out; the battery losses around 0.04 to 0.06 volts everytime i do this.

Should i change the spark plugs or is it a different problem?

That sounds like a flat battery still to me. Have you charged the new battery?

Yes and just checked it with a multimeter, its at 12.67v

the clicking is usually a sign of a dead starter relay, the starter relay also holds the 30A main fuse and is directly connected to the +ve end of the battery. if you put the bike into neutral and turn the ignition on and put the kill switch to run and using a piece of metal with an insulated handle (like a screwdriver etc...) make a connection between the 2 large screws of the starter relay - the bike should fire up, if so its a dead relay.

It was the starter relay,it didn't even take its time to turnover, it just fired up. When u buy a new starter relay from ebay is the fuse included or sold separately?

sold seperate id imagine, but just take the fuse out of the old one.

12.67 isn't fully charged btw, that's only about 75%

This happened to me once, it was due to the wires on the battery terminal not meeting properly.

To solve it I jus sanded down the O cables that go over the terminal, alon with the terminals and tightened the screws up really tight!
