changing alternator

im buying another zxr400 this week,its a l1 model, the alternator needs replacing tso this will be my first job, one comes with the bike, i was just wandering if its an easy and straightforward job to do or if there is anything i should be carefull of and if i need any special tools etc? any advice appreciated

Fairly easy yeah. The casing is a bugger to get off because of the magnetism of the magnet and coils but once off all you need to do is pull off the coils then unclip the connector. Then simply reconect, and press the coils in place. :smt001
