Hello all, ive reciantly put my little zxr back together after a few months of it beaing in bits and ive noticed a little problam that i believe could be fuel related
i put the bike back back together and am 99% sure the coils are all working ok and it does seem to idle ok but as soon as you try to rev it it doesnt want to rev it sounds really boggy almost like its running on 3 cylinders
does any one know the base setting for the carbs, like the air mixture and what size the jets and needles should be
any help much appreciated
Help please

Re: Help please
Have u changed the settings since it was last together? If not id say leave it if it ran fine beforehand.
How long have the carbs sat there? It could be just a case of cleaning the carbs out with cleaner as they can become blocked with old gummed up fuel.

just a quick update, ive been adviced that it is more than lightly that my cdi unit is dead or possibly dying as it wont even allow the engine to turn over and as soon as it trys it wont rev clean
also i turned the air mixture screw back in one turn as the exhaust was really chocked up, does anyone no were i can find the oringinal carb settings ?

Re: Help please
I would start from the basics and tick them off working my way up. Fuel pump fine, fuel line fine, float heights fine, carbs getting fuel, carbs cleaned, jets inspected, sparks, coils etc.. Check the manual and see if you set your coils right, ie: the green wire to which? Are the carb rubbers and intake rubbers fine and secure in place? Is your choke correct? The manuals are on the main page. If my memory is right then the H is 2 1/4 turns out and the L is something like 1 1/2 turns out. Float heights for H is plus/minus 13mm. A lot of my problems were fuel related. Did you play with the head?
