funny lighting

i have fitted led indys to the front and back both have resistors inline. i had a problem with the headlights not working but that turned out to be the wires in the junction box being in the wrong place.
i fixed that and now have lights automatically when i turn the ignition key which is good. however, now when i indicate the indicator lights either come on dim and stay on and make the tail light go off, or flash at varying brightnesses.

the loom and junction box are both new

has anyone else had issues with led lights?
do i have to have any indys at all?

sounds a bit to me like an earth problem......check all connections are good and the right way round etc and earth points to the frame etc are good and clean.
