steering damper??

steering damper??
hi sory to be a pain in the butt because i think this has been mentioned before but i carnt find what im looking for ive got a damper just need to fit it i have the clamo to go round the forks all im wondering is at the other end the fairing iss in the way of me screwing the damper into the frame any one help would be greatfull cherrs jim

So have I viewtopic.php?f=123&t=12273 What do you mean the fairing is in the way? There should be a gap of about an inch or two between the damper mounting socket and the fairing. If you mean you can't get a tool on the head of whatever bolt you are using because of the fairing then obviously you need to take the LH side panel of the fairing off. Obvious isn't it, or am I missing something 
Or are you fitting it the other way round to mine, with the damper body fitted to the frame and the rod fitted to the fork clamp? Do you mean there isn't then enough room for the damper to fit between the frame and the fairing? In which case you fit it the other way round (which is better as you then avoid the risk of getting a damper rod impaling your leg in a front end shunt).

thanks for the reply and yes will have another look tomoro probly me being stupid.......im a mechanic aswell haha
