Re: Mori Man are you OK
Hey Guys, thanks again for all your well wishes.
Day 4:
Quakes are now infrequent, last was around 7:15am and intensity is dropping.
We are on limited services , water and electricity comes on for a few hours a day , no analogue phone so as soon as power is off so is the phone.
Shops are emptying fast and we have some stock - our hope is main roads will open soon but highway to Tokyo is going to be closed for a long time.
Got our living room and kitchen back in some order but wont fully tidy up until we know this is over till the next time - things moved , fell and broke so they aint going no where if we get another M7 hitting us.
Scarey as f*** being on the bike while happening - Hollywood has got that all WRONG, bloody impossible to ride bike motocrosser or not !
1st shock sent back end into a slid and as I got that under control the shock waves put the front end into near lock-lock tank slapper , you cant fight it to hard or it intensifies and you are also counter acting the effect the bike is tipping in and out of each shock wave - best way to describe , imagine going through a cone slalom really quick while having a tank slapper !!
All the while as your slowing down the force of the shockwaves is getting heavier and as I got to the point we could get off I was aware it was going to be all to easy for the bike and me to topple !!
Neosophist was over (Martin) , he got off and pinned bike down as I was getting off without him the bike would have gone over as no way to hold myself. Both our eyes were out on stalks ! That calmed down and Martin had a smoke , gave me time for my knees to stop knocking but the 3rd one hit and when your up on an overpass you know your in the wrong place and just hoping its not the wrong time too !!
What a day, in fact what a four days - nothing even comes close to this experience.
I will pop in when I can but generally post on FB as most my family can see whats going on and I reach a wider group of folks but hopefully the jungle drums will keep beating and you get updates too
MM!
PS: Sods law - had polished the bike for Martin to see , now covered in poo !!

Being on the overhead bypass was quite an experience, Still have a few bruises when we were trying to hold the bike up from being tipped over..
