There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

need new Con rod bolts ASAP

Post by neil_cb125t »

hi there,

after a badly timed big end failure i need to rebuild the beastie - unfourtunately kawasaki NZ doesn't carry any Con rod bolts.. they are ex japan and won't make it to New Zealand by xmas.

If anyone has a new set ( 8 ) incl nuts spare, i love to purchase them, i have paypal or have a contact in uk if thats easier.

email me on neil_cb125t@yahoo.com

many thanks

neil

I would try phoning Cradley they might have them in stock and I'm sure they would post to you...................however postage to NZ will be very expensive especially if you want them ASAP................also there could be customs issues.

You might avoid the customs issues if someone was to buy them from Cradley for you and then post on to NZ and send them as a gift..................but postage will still e expensive..............it takes a week for a package to get to Australia via airmail I suspect NZ would be the same.

I'll do it for you if you want........what model ?

hi the model is an H1 - the part numbers i have from the kawasaki parts book is.

Rod bolts # 92150-1081 X 8
Rod nuts # 92015-1715 X 8

I did look at cradley site - online they don't specify parts for ZXR400, so i didn't dig any deaper. the time constraint is high due to our national season beginning on the 4th week of Jan, with Xmas coming up parts from japan are very unlikely to be here prior to new years.

If you could find out if they stock the parts and a total proce for what ever the quickest postage is That would be awesome - they should fit in a smaller courier bag or even a envelope. VAT i wouldn't have thought it would be a problem if its under a certain value ( think thats 300 pounds?), as i have had many parts from the uk come over ( EBC discs, a TTS 444cc piston etc ) untaxed.

i am hunting around the shops in nz today as my order from japan has to be made on friday ( tomorrow ) if i can't source them else where, and ofcourse if i order them form japanland then i cannot return them if others turn up sooner... :smt011

cheers for the help thus far

let me know

neil
