Rev counter

Post by cargo »

I know the rev counter can behave strangly if and when the battery is flat/low

But mine on a bike that I've just started seems to be reading exactly twice what it should it ticks over and an indicated 3000 but should and feels like 15000

spin the engine up and it revs way beyond the red line........................but no sign of limiter cutting in ???

Any electrics experts ?

is it off a 250 or something ? my zx6r tacho reads double plugged into a zxr400.. had the same problem putting tri-arm clocks on a CB-1.. ended up getting a geeky mate to build a signal halver, plugged in inline .. sorted :)

I've not changed anything on the bike its one that I last raced back in Sept. It had a newly built built engine in it for tha last race and very fresh suspension only rebuilt in August. so I've done very little to it bar clean and polish.

Stuck a battery in this morning fried it up runs great just suddenly revs are reading twice ? ?

Must be a corosion problem somewhere...............hate searching through electrics...............gggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
