H engine into L electrical issues and pointers?

Hi all from a longtime lurker! smiler

Im sticking an H 89' engine into my L4 94' zxr400 ...I inverted the thermostat housing and plan to run an L model loom and ecu. i have some questions

Will I have issues with the alternator seeing as it is an H model in an L chassis?

I have an extra block connector on right hand switchgear with no corresponding block connector on loom....will this be a prob ?

Any other pointers would be greatly appreciated!

You will need to make sure the ignition rotor and the CDI box are compatible...................easy swap to get the right combination

The alternater will just plug in no issues


Don't understand how changing the engine causes an issue with the right switch gear.............there is no direct connection

Nice one cargo! i used the H ecu to match the H ign rotor and its turning over nicely on the button now so should fire when i stick the carbs back on thanks

I'd check the plugs for a spark before you put it all back together...............just cos it turns over doesn't nesscessarly mean you've got a spark
