Generator

Post by U_h0rnet5 »

Hey,

I crashed my bike last year and the generator cover has got a crack in it! It was laying on its side for some while with oil pissing out of it obviously! Im trying to put the bike back together but as the oil has leaked through this way will I need to replace the generator inside or will just a clean up do?

Also is there anyway of mending the Generator cover, as finding it hard to get a replacement without going to Cradleys lol?

Thanks again

though having said that, a hard knock can damage the generator windings, though i'd wait and see what its like once its back together. Its not hard to whip the genny cover back off if its not charging properly.

Zimm offers a reinforced cover, tig welded and will even paint or powder coat for you if you so wish. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11272
These things are sent to try us!!

Sweet nice one! Is there just like a temporary solution like some putty stuff that I can put on it if possible?
