There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

"Glowing headers mean the engine is lean – This wives’ tale is starting to lose steam, but still believed more often than not. Headers glow red for only one reason, there’s fuel burning inside. The two main reasons are a rich mixture and late ignition timing - which doesn’t give the fuel enough time to burn inside the combustion chamber. Test it for yourself, let your engine idle and crank the ignition timing back to the point where it barely runs, then get out the marshmallows"

HTH

by the same logic, cam timing would also have an effect..

what ignition are you using ? what state of tune are the engines ?

whats been changed if anything since they were in a state where this didnt happen ?
the ignition is standard as far as i nomthe engine has always been done by roger at RMKD,
nothing at all has been changed on the bike apart from me doing an oil change,i will try get it booked in on the dyno when i have a free day off work try that
cheers for the advice winks
