Best clutch plates to use??

Hi there,

I'm needing new clutch plates for next season as the old ones have had it. Just wondering what most folks use for racing? I've ran the last two seasons with the standard plates and they have done the job up till now. EBC do a street racer kevlar kit with heavy duty springs that sounds good. I've used them in the past on Moto x bikes and they've been good. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I use both kawasaki and ebc mate.
Kawasaki steels, and either ebc or kawasaki frictions. the ebc springs are good, the ebc friction plates are sometimes good and sometimes shite. I think the manufacturing tollerances at ebc are crap.
I have had a set of ebc's last 2 laps, or the last set lasted all season with a full tune engine without a problem.
Ive got one of them new ebc racer kevlar sets(different than the old sets) to try for next year, just cos they are/where cheap.

I've always use the standard Kawasaki clutch plates steels and frictions.................. I'm prepared to bet Roger prefers them too

Kawasaki frictions, though someone also told me R6 frictions will work. Haven't tried them but I did compare them to a stocker and I'm sure they will work.

Guys, don't waste your time and effort, I have been running standard clutch steels, frictions and springs in all the bikes I tune with no problems, most of them are 73-77bhp but even at 81bhp revving to 16000rpm the standard clutch is reliable, if you are having problems it is either adjustment, a knackered cable, grooves in the basket or just time for a new set of plates.

Just use stock parts, but make sure they are in good condition,

Can you get Barnett plates & springs for a ZXR? , I fitted the springs in my terminally slipping FZR and the worked well. I also think worn & grooved clutch baskets cause a lot of problems so it's worth checking them if you are having trouble.

I fitted a brand new set of EBC plates and springs before a meeting at Oulton. The clutch slipped all the time, partly because the EBC springs are softer, as they are made of a thinner diameter steel.

Once I put the Kawasaki OEM springs back, normality was restored. It's only a five minute job, but the EBC stuff is therefore a waste of money

any indications on the springs to what i have?

Last time i rode the bike the clutch was really soft which sounds like ebc springs.
