There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

hi guys bmcracng now do the lightweight tanks for zxrs too. good thing is they fill up from the standard position and use a standard style cap. e.g aftermarket quick release.so no need to remove the tank cover too refill. looks exactly like the honda one shown here: http://www.bmcracing.co.uk/#/shop-page5/4533508442 but obviously for a zxr lol. also i can get the discs as its me that bmc gets tem off but they have had to go up tp £50 due to pricing for me to get them going up. i also need to buy 10 at once so if anybody is interested p.m me and if we get 10 orders then were on.. cheers leon

Titanium swing arm spindle :smt010. I have a price - not good. Grade 2 Ti is changing hands at £90/m (of the diameer required to turn this spindle) allowing for machining I am getting quotes of £70 - £90 depending on time / margin. :smt012 If I do a batch of 10 I reckon I can get this down to £60-£65 per. If there is enough interest I will get them sorted.

So - I need another 9 lardy souls interested in knocking 0.5kg off the bike weight to make this happen. Any takers PM me and if/when we get the numbers I will confirm details - allow £5 for postage on top so say £70 total. I had a look at the wheel spindels but as these weigh significantly less than the solid swing arm spidle I cant see how this would make sense - the weight saving doesnt seem worth it

Lifted the following from the 2007 acu regs.. sure its not changed just cant find current book.

13.21 Construction

The use of titanium in the construction of the frame, the front forks, the handlebars, the swinging arm spindles and the wheel spindles is forbidden. For wheel spindles the use of light alloy is also forbidden. The use of titanium alloy nuts and bolts is allowed.

Haven't got my handbook in front of me, but I thought that was just Supersport regs rather than Formula? If it's across the board, then bugger....cancel my order vsad

And certainly for the Manx GP the use of ally fasteners is not allowed in "stressed" components.........................

Still think it make more sense to lose weight from your fat bottom.........................

I take exception to the "fat bottom" refernce here!!!!! :smt018 I am a svelte like 33in waist (circumference not diameter!!!!)

To be honest (regs or not) this seems a bit of a price to pay for a relatively low weight reduction.

33inch not good enough.......................too large........................get down to 32 and at least 20 press ups for the Manx...............

Regarding the 'solid' swinging arm spindle?? there are some models of the zxr400 that have a hollow spindle...12mm dia hole down the middle :smt002

Thats good to know Roger - havent come across any but will keep eye out - must be a hell of a lot cheaper than Ti and probably save the same weight

Aye, tbh... until this thread i thought all the zxr models had hollow swingarm spindles. Been to the shed and checked, my h2 has a hollow one, and my L has a hollow one too. Altho, i have a h1 and a h2 with solid spindles... weird.
the ones with the hollow spinles where originally a J2 and an M of what year im not sure. could they be just on the sp models? maybee just a coincidence as they have been apart a million times
Had a feel anyhow, i would say they are half the weight of the solids
