I've been busting my balls at my new job but the good in all of this is that I now have funds for the ZXR project.
So, I got her out of her stable today and whipped off the rear caliper and tried to fire her up.
Now, straight back in with a couple of questions.
1) How are you supposed to get the pins out of the back of the pads? I removed the R-clips and yet they don't want to move. Are they just corroded in place? Or is there some trick I'm missing? Surely you don't split the block just to change pads!

2) Now, admittedly I've not even checked for a spark here (I don't have the right socket - I'm guessing it's a 10mm spark plug socket?). But, I tried starting her without the fuel tank, airbox, and exhaust end can, but she didn't want to fire up earlier.
I simply plugged a funnel into some fuel hose and tried to turn her over. She sucked in a fair amount of fuel (I imagine filling the float chamber ma thingies) but she wouldn't fire.
So, although I've failed to check the obvious such as compression and spark. Am I being really thick here in trying to start he without airbox, end can and fuel tank? Or should she still be able to run, albeit rather rough?
I'm going to give her some proper attention next weekend but just sort of reflecting on todays brief encounter.
Can't wait to get her going again!
