Re: engine noise
if the cam chain is new, is the tensioner new aswell?
If the cam chain and tensioner are new id say its a valve clearance.

Re: engine noise
the tensioneris not new, it have 53000 km....
when i replace the chain, i had take a look at it, and it seem ok
i think about valve clearance, i'll check it tomorow when engine 'll be cold
what are the spec for ?

This topic is your best friend

One way of checking the tensioner is to see how far up the tensioner piston is, down by the pickup rotor, youll need to take the pickup casing off to set the cams to check clearances so you may as well check where the tensioner piston is first.
If its quite high up then your problem may be with the tensioner.
Have you listened to the engine to find out where exactly the noise is coming from?

Re: engine noise
the noise is from the head, appearing at 5500 rpm....
the tensioner piston is in low position.... chain tension is ok...
i have buy a head, i'll bring it to kawa workshop to rebuild this one, and i'll put it on my bike
then i'll rebuild my actual one

Re: engine noise
some news......
i have a stange noise when decelerating, i explain:
- it appear only when really hot
- the noise only appear when decelerate (static test, cannot be hear when drinving)
- the noise is 'quick' i mean the frequency is higher than engine rev
- the noise is difficult to hear, not really loud
- the bike run fine.... can take his top speed (235 on speedo with 120/70 font tyre) effortless
- the noise is like pinion teeths...
the timing chain is brand new, the guide have 53000 km, tentioner too (seem ok)
do you have experimented someting like this ??
