L3 Rear brake caliper washer/bush?

Post by saka_ZXR »

While taking my calipers off to strip em down for respraying, i noticed that on one side of the rear caliper hanger (triangle type thingy that the actual caliper bolts to theres a removable washer/bush type thingy which is damaged and bent, can u buy them separately? or would anyone on here be willing to sell me one? or even a whole caliper if i have to, doesnt matter if the caliper is broke aslong as the bush thingy is intact, i realise it isnt a really clear description and i'd have taken a picture however my cameras batter died the other day and ive lost the charger atm.
If it's broke spray it with WD40, if it's still broke spray it again and leave it over night, if it's still broke, bin it.

I think the "bushy thing" that you are talking about is a bearing and is there to take account of the reaction force when the torque arm on the rear caliper applies force to the caliper hanger. If it is damaged then you will need a new one. Calip[er hangers with decent bearings come up on fleebay pretty regularly but if none at moment AMS motorsport are bound to have one - or fry Fallsofslowly on this site

I have just had a look at the reference on the drawing - if it is the part number shown then provided that the bearing is still intact and the damage to the bushing doesnt affect the bearing operation then this shouldnt be a big issue.

92143 is that the one that the axle goes through first?

Cuz I think it's 92049 that's damaged.
