Where you can get away with it on smaller engined bikes , a big bike will spin out much faster... but you will get used to it very quickly.

I saw the 6R and the 10R next to each other tonight and the 10 looked to be about 2 inches lower than the 6.

Good luck and enjoy it.
Ha Ha, well I'm fooked then. Nearly highsided the ZXR400 about 3 weeks ago coming onto the A303 shocking
It always amazes me that the 10R is a little smaller than the 6R. I would have thought it should be the other way round, but hey I ain't complaining.

if it were up to me having ridden both, I'd go and get a ZXR750, much more fun.

If you worry about dropping it why not buy a scratched (dropped off stand) one for 1k less than list, you can then drop it a few times and then spend the grand bringing it up to bling when you've done wobbling around on it?

Nothing worse than a bike you worry about dropping. Wheres the fun in that? Do you ride to look good or to enjoy the run?

Buy a scratched 'un and sleep easy.

Oh and deffo the 6r. Although I was on a cbr600rr and found the modern 600 a little 'sanitised' cause it was too stable, too easy to ride fast and lacking anything low down. Mind you lack of mid-range is relative when this is a zxr400 forum LOL.

The induction noise on the 600 is addictive though...awesome.

Just to let you all know, I didn't get the 10R. After long chats with the wife, friends other bike owners etc I decided as a family man the 10R would be too dangerous and too much of a temptation.

Instead I bought a 2005 ZX6R (636) with 5000 miles on the clock for just under £4000. It is in as new condition and hasn't seen rain (until I rode it home today and got caught out :smt010 )

Roll on SUMMER :excited

good man! The 6R will get you into trouble plenty quickly enough, you don't need a 10R for that! I personally find riding a 600 far more rewarding than a thou - you need to work that little bit harder and be that little bit smoother.
Bike looks awesome, enjoy n ride safe :excited

Thanks all for the input. Always good to get info of peeps who have ridden bigger bikes and also have a sensible approach ( Jamz you weren't wrong ) I could see myself having a major crash if I had bought the 10R. I knew you weren't trying to put me off, just looking out for us all. oldman :smt002

Have done 100 miles on the 6 already and it's amazing. Gonna be a while before I get the knee down again.

The 400 is now up for sale viewtopic.php?f=68&t=8452

Enjoy all and ride safe! Will still be coming to the 400 meet when it is sorted :excited

The ZXR400 is now sold :smt010

Will be using some money for bling on the new six. Gonna get a carbon hugger first. So far have just added the dice and some tyre paint. Love the difference it makes!!

Looks nice, Cass.

Need some other stickers on it, in the black part, tbh. Just don't go as nuts as you did with your old 400...

Get yourself a yoshimura pipe for it, it sounds awesome with one, and tidies up the back end.

I had some swing arm bobbins but took them off the '05 ZX6 I had and put them on my '07 one when I got it.
Took a little hacking, but got there in the end.

I think the only thing they kept the same from 05 636 to 07 600 was the screen! Oh, and the bar ends. maybe.

I had so many spares and I ebayed them away. vsad

I think I still have a proper seat unit that says ZX6RR on it in my garage for a C1H, I think. Might have a mini scuff from my boot on it though. Would you want it?
