Hi i managed to remove the flywheel
but want to retain the starter machanism
do i just drill the rivets out and retain the smalller flywheel half.
Or does anyone make a plate or something ?

thats it mate, just drill them rivetts out, and keep the smaller part for the starter motor.
how did you get it off in the end then?

It was a bit of a mare mate !
Got a gear/bearing puller behind the flywheel but was a bit small so couldnt get any pressure behind it
luckily there was a thread on the side of it that we managed to screw 2 puller legs into and the top part
of another puller onto that .
It came off with a bang
It took nearly an hour messing with 3 different pullers, 1 gear/brg puller and a mallet.
Bet its 5mins with the proper tool

Out of curiosity i priced the kawasaki puller and got a shock!
£101 !
Luckily now i have refitted the rear flywheel half it looks as if a normal
small 2 leg puller will pull that off.
