wot gearing

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

14/45 would be a good place to start.

I agree with GQ.

Depends a bit on BHP, I would also take 14/46 with me, (unless you have an SP gearbox and / or over 75 bhp.)

With 14/45 you will not get to use 6th - Not a big problem.

14/48 on a tuned engine with 15.5k or 16k rev limit. 14/46 would be goodfor a standard rev limit.

Great video Greville, thanks. And well done with the results at the weekend. Looking forward to my first outing for the year there in April for the centenary event. See you there - I'll come and introduce myself (#9).

PS: Ratbag, I would listen to ballsout's advice on gearing; he knows more than most about 400's and racing.

As Jake says, no it's not. I've had other people ask that, I think it's because changing gear at such high revs makes the ratio's appear closer. Jake, did you remove a previous post or was I imagining it :smt017

GQ, yeah, see you there, and thanks. I was well chuffed with the results considering I hadn't even sat on a bike for over a year until a couple of weeks ago :smt003
