Architecture student needs your help!
Hi guys, Im in my second year of architecture at Kingston and the project I am doing at the minute is a one bedroom house for Valentino Rossi. The house is on a small site but is going to have a big garage for Rossi to test/modify his bikes in the winter. What I would like to know is, what would you all love to have in your garage, if money was no object? for example, dyno, clothing racks, tools and equipment etc. cheers for your help!

do you not need to consider venting, althoe bcos rossi an his team work from a trailer/ massive lorry thing i doubt it would be useful, could you not have some sort of clip on garage? ie so when he goes on the road so does his garage?!?!? it all about thinking outside the box lmao.

I know its not strictly to do with motorbikes, but here is a thought.
Dell are shipping Data Centres in containers.

Im sure you could use the same containers to house the testing gear and bikes and the all important Grid Girls.

metal containers have already been done in the Architecture world. best thing to do is buy a couple of architecture mags look at the best designs and do completely the opposite. i was told that by a good designer onece.

My perfect garage would have built into the floor and hidden from view a bike lift in fact at least half a dozen of them.
Wheel the bike in leave it parked on the right spot press a button and it rises to the right height to work on.

Re: Architecture student needs your help!
where do I start
should be properly insulated, the floor should be heated and sealed
not to mention, there should be wired ethernet ports in there as well as wireless internet access.
bike lift - atleast one
tig weld
lathe & mill, (Axminster micro one if space is an issue)
parts washer
decent shelving and tool chests
tyre changing & balancing kit
compressed air line
decent work benches
vice
rack for spare wheels & tyres
laptop for ordering parts / research / etc
decent set of speakers & streaming music device
kid in a toy shop!!

In the current "green" climate, some sort of oil/fluid recycler.... put in your used fluid, gets de-contaminated, ready for re-use???
Been there, seen it, done it...... back to a 400
