Away from bikes what else do you do ?

Post by cargo »

The airsoft thread got me thinking.................what else to folks on here do ?

I'm big into training and running but only since early this year.
I train 6 days a week in a gym and am a complete spin junkie..................mad exercise bike set to music..............I love it

I've done a few 10k races now and hope to try a marathon sometime next year...............and theres a crazy thing called the rat race it's a city center race over two days on mountain bikes one day and running on the other I'll be doing that too..............

Any other gym junkies ?

I need stamina training.. so am planning to start over the next week at the local gym.
I get knackered after 5 laps short circuit, never mind 151 manx miles

I'm a gym junkie. I have to be for my job. Train 5 days a week running and weights. Saturadays and Sundays are day's off. Also jump out of planes when I can.

You'd be surprised how a long MGP race doesn't leave you knackered I'm not saying it's easy just not as hard as you think it's going to be.

Spinning so far as I'm concerned is great for cardio and staminia but you need to be doing it properly..................when I've finishd a 60 minute session my legs feel like they are on fire and the heart rate is through the roof.................
I only do weights once a week it's more a toning thing rather than body building....still good fun

If there is one thing in this world I'll nver do it's jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane..................if it's broken and crashing then sure no problemo.
I've done a tiny wee bit of flying in a two seater............... great fun but no way was I planning to actually use the parachute I was wearing

Im not a gym addict but that fresh feeling you get inside after a good sweat is like nothing else. Love my mountain bike too, got a specialized stumpjumper fsr comp that is real fun for a day in the saddle. Of course my physique is nothing like you'd my hobbies should cause me to be, today for instance i've done nothing at all due to way way way too much beer in the pub last night and that takeaway i rammed down my throat at 4am still tastes cack!

so how come swimming baths wont let you shag in the pool? :smt017

Its great - reports that male testosterone levels have dropped significantly as a result of all sorts of toad in the environment have clearly been disproved by the ZXRWORLD OFFICIAL SURVEY OF MALE INTERESTS OTHER THAN BIKES - the overwelming resposne to scientific questioning revealed

Weight lifting, 5days a week. Also just started doing "wing chun" a couple of nights a week and running machine to try and improve my stamina.
It's amazing how fit you can look from just doing weights, but when it comes to running for a bus, Noooooooooooooooo!
Action is the antidote to despair.

I play alot of online chess, was on and off it for the last 3 years or so but really got into it middle of this year and improving my play alot. Ive got my friend to blame for that tho, i only win about 1 or 2 games in every 10 we play, so my goal at the moment is to beat him at least half of the time. Wouldnt say i was an excellent player by any means but i can give people who are much better players a tough time. My Elo rating according to chessworld which use the US Elo system, is hovering about 1200/1250 at the moment which is next level up from absolute beginner.

I went to the gym alot over the summer, went at least 2 days a week, one day swimming, one day gym and maybe do a third if i had time. I felt absolutely great when i was going and cant wait to get going again when ive got a bit more money. I really like running and cycling, strangely tho i prefer tread mills to running outside. I go mainly to keep my heart in good shape and stay healthy, anything else is a bonus really, im not overly fussed about big muscles.
