just so you know the restricton is actually 25 kW so the lighter the bike the less the power.

That doesn't make sense...........................................the lighter the bike the less the power ??????????????

Are you saying that restrictor kits take the weight of each invidual bike into account and limit each bike according to it's weight to give a preset power to weight ratio?

If you pass...

Once you pass your standard motorcycle test you are restricted to machines of 25 kW (33 bhp) with a power to weight ratio of 0.16 kW/kg for two years.

So the fastest possible bike for a newly quaified rider weights 156.25 KG...................given that a L model is 159kg dry according to the spec sheet on here then a ZXR is nearly the perfect bike for newly quailfied riders................

PTQ

Looks like your choice of a ZXR400 is the right one Steve :smt002

this is the problem i had, i wanted to be fast but also wanted to be legal. i know everybody says dont get the certificate but at the end of the day i can go as fast as the bike will let me and then if i do get pulled over 1 day and get a producer i have a certificate to say its restricted. you have a few options mate!
