SP CDI and Loom

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

I dont know if you are aware of this Davw but there are some restricted sp igniters...and i dont mean on the speed restriction side, that can be overcome with a 10k resistor. They have an ignition retard programed into them that retards the timing at about 12,000rpm, they will continue to rev on to 15,300rpm but the power just drops off after 12k...rendering them useless! it would need an electronics 'wizzkid' to sort it out and i havent come across anyone that can sort it in the last 10years.

Hi - thanks for the heads up on that. Any idea if that is identifiable from the serial numbers? What was the purpose of the retardation - any idea?

I think the serial no. on the one Roger is talking about ends in 73. The 'good' one ends in 72. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Ben

How did you get along with this. If it is the F3 spec one you would like I can modify yours to suit. One needs not be a WIZKID just an old hacker...LOL....cheers
